Maiden voyage to Venice and some strange sailing conditions

Finally, after testing the boat with Miha and Marko and Gernot and lot’s of test sails, Lifgun started her maiden voyage to Venice. It was a calm travel from Izola to Venice. A bit of sailing and a bit of engine help. This electric propulsion is outstanding, it gives you a totally new feel of driving. The noise level is almost not existent….a total calm moving. Docked in the small harbor of the “Compagnia della Vela” on the island of San Giorgio with a beautiful view to the San Marco we explored Venice for a couple of days. Supported by Christine und Franco which showed us the most exciting spots in Venice by motorboat! After 4 nights I left to do some “serious” sailing. Down to Rimini and back to Izola. We encountered all types of wind and weather, from dead calm to a hailstorm with almost 50 knots of wind. Sailed day and night gave me a good opportunity to test all the systems and getting familiar with the new boat.  She is amazing easy to sail singlehanded. Our planning work is now paying off ! Many sail changes and reefing actions were executed at day and during night. Really no complaints. Over all – that was an awesome (but short) week of sailing and sightseeing on the Adriatic sea! Well done Lifgun.
